The People Behind Shiok BBQ

We are a group of chefs who have spent years in the hotel and restaurant industry, serving up semi-fine and fine dining food. While calling cooking our passion might sound cliché, we can confidently say we’re among the best in the industry. Our team has honed their skills, serving high-profile clients and hosting prestigious dining events. But there’s one thing we all share—a love for BBQ. Unfortunately, sharing that love with our families and friends often seemed out of reach due to high price points. That’s why we came together to create Shiok BBQ.

"Shiok" is a local word that means great or excellent quality, and most Singaporeans know it well. Our goal is to create a BBQ brand that resonates with all Singaporeans—not something overly fine or exclusive. While we can cook luxurious steaks, we wanted to explore something different and share our love for BBQ with more people who appreciate it just like we do.

Transitioning to a Wider Stage

We began our journey by serving private barbeque events with chef onsite service, starting with a team of one to six professional chefs. As our team grew, so did our dream. From one kitchen, we expanded to two, then three. But our hunger was for more than just business and profit—we wanted to make great BBQ accessible to all.

Noticing a gap in the market, we aimed to offer high-quality BBQ food that wasn’t heavily processed. This vision led to the creation of our BBQ Factory. We invested significantly in research and development to create something great and affordable, spending countless hours perfecting our offerings.

To make our BBQ affordable, we became wholesalers, supplying directly to restaurants, cafes, and hotels. This shift allows us to offer the best prices without compromising on quality. From a $300 steak at 200-300g to a 1kg steak for $200-300, we have achieved our milestones and are spreading our love of BBQ every single day.
